Choco-Coco-Nut Bars

List of Ingredients
- CRUST
- 1/2 cup butter, room temp
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups toasted coconut
- TOPPING
- 12 oz chocolate chips
- 2 1/2 cups toasted pecan pieces
- 1 bag carmel candies, unwrapped
- 2 cups toasted coconut
Instructions
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Toast coconut and pecans. Stir from time to time and watch to make sure they don't burn.
- Cream sugar, butter, egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and pat crust into a buttered 9x13" baking dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove baked crust from oven and spread chocolate chips over hot crust. Let stand for approximately 5 minutes or until chips are soft. Spread over crust.
- Add pecans to melted chocolate and pat into the chocolate.
- Melt carmels in microwave. Pour over pecans and spread out.
- Pat remaining toasted coconut into warm carmel.
- Allow to cool before cutting.
