    List of Ingredients


    • 1 Baked single crust 10" pie shell
    • 2 Cups whipping cream
    • 2 Cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 2/3 Cup unsalted butter
    • 2/3 Cup super-fine white sugar
    • 4 Large egg yolks, beaten
    • 4 Tbl coffee flavored liquer
    • GARNISH
    • Sweetened whipped cream
    • Cocoa


    Instructions


    1. In a heavy, non-stick saucepan (at least 2 quart size) combine whipping cream, chocolate, sugar, butter and beaten eggs.
    2. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until ingredients are well blended, sugar is dissolved and chocolate is melted. Mixture will thicken somewhat.
    3. Add coffee flavored liquer.
    4. Pour chocolate mixture into a metal mixing bowl set onto a bed of ice. Place into refrigerator.
    5. Stir mixture frequently until it is very thick and difficult to stir.
    6. Once chocolate mixture is very thick, beat with electric mixer at high speed for 3 or 4 minutes until mixture is light and fluffy.
    7. Spoon mixture into prepared pie shell and smooth with spatula.
    8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 5 hours.
    9. Pipe sweetened whipped cream onto top of pie. Dust lightly with cocoa prior to serving.


    Final Comments


    This is very rich, so serving pieces can be small. Serves 8-10
