Thanksgiving Waldorf Salad

List of Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup slightly sweetened whipped cream
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 1/2 lb red eating apples, cored and chopped into bite-size pieces
- 2 cups thinly sliced celery
- 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
- 1 cup seedles red grapes
- Minature marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- Sprinkle lemon juice over chopped apples and stir to coat.
- Peel and string celery before slicing. (Peeled celery is sweeter and has a better flavor)
- Put walnuts onto a baking sheet and toast in a 300 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Stir twice during the toasting process.
- Fold whipped cream into mayonnaise.
- Gently mix all ingredients into the mayonnaise-whipped cream mixture.
- Chill prior to serving.
Final Comments
Serve on a crisp lettuce leaf placed on a pretty salad plate. Garnish with 3 or 4 minature marshmallows.
