    Thanksgiving Waldorf Salad

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 1/2 cup slightly sweetened whipped cream
    • 1/4 cup lemon juice
    • 1 1/2 lb red eating apples, cored and chopped into bite-size pieces
    • 2 cups thinly sliced celery
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
    • 1 cup seedles red grapes
    • Minature marshmallows (optional)


    Instructions


    1. Sprinkle lemon juice over chopped apples and stir to coat.

    2. Peel and string celery before slicing. (Peeled celery is sweeter and has a better flavor)

    3. Put walnuts onto a baking sheet and toast in a 300 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Stir twice during the toasting process.

    4. Fold whipped cream into mayonnaise.

    5. Gently mix all ingredients into the mayonnaise-whipped cream mixture.

    6. Chill prior to serving.



    Final Comments


    Serve on a crisp lettuce leaf placed on a pretty salad plate. Garnish with 3 or 4 minature marshmallows.
