Chicken Fried Pork Chops

- 6 pork chops 1/2 inch thick
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tbl. milk
- 2/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 tbl. shortning
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from pork chops.
- Mix egg and milk
- Dip meat in egg mixture and then roll in the bread crumbs.
- Brown meat on all sides in the hot shortening.
- Season with salt, add 1/4 cup of water and cover.
- Cook over low heat 45 to 60 minutes. Lift the pork chops occasionally to prevent sticking. For a crisp coating, remove the cover the last 15 minutes.
