    Merideth's Favorite Rivels

    Source of Recipe

Sherri Fisher - mom of Merideth Fisher - 3rd - Irick

    Recipe Introduction

You can serve rivels as a side dish or add to chicken noodle soup or potato soup.

    List of Ingredients

    2 c flour
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    1/2 tsp pepper
    2 eggs
    3/4 c milk
    2 can chicken broth

    Recipe

Bring the chicken broth to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir flour, seasonings, eggs and milk together in a large bowl until it forms a thick batter; add more milk if necessary. Drop batter, by small pieces, into the boiling broth - I use my hands and let it pull down as it is dropping into the broth. Boil gently, stirring once or twice until rivels rise to the surface and are tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from broth with slotted spoon to a bowl. You can add a tablespoon or so of butter to the cooked rivels to keep them from sticking together.
