List of Ingredients
2 cups elbow macaroni
3 cups cubed, raw potatoes
a little cream
salt,pepper, nutmeg
veggie broth
1 or 2 tbsp. butter

This one is the only recipe I have from my mom - she's a great mom but a, well, modest cook.She will make this everytime she doesn't know what to cook.My father hates it because he hates casserole and pasta.He only eats it because of the potatoes, he eats everything including potatoes.I personally love it and you have most of the ingredients at home most of the time.
Directions:
Melt butter in a large pot over low heat.Add uncooked noodles and let brown a bit.Be careful, brown and black is a difference of seconds!Once browned add potatoes and about 2 cups broth.Let cook until noodles and potatoes are tender, about 10 minutes.Add more broth gradually but only as much that the stuff doesn't stick at the bottom.Season and add some cream.It should be really thick, not soupy.Pour the meal in a oven-dish, sprinkle with cheese and let brown or melt the cheese.You can also layer it, like one layer noodle-mix, one layer cheese and so on.
Serve this with a chunky tomato sauce*.
