Apple Drop Scones with Cinnamon Butter

4 ounces butter -- softened
2 ounces sugar
2 ounces brown sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 ounce butter -- melted
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine the first four ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat until smooth. Cover and refrigerate.
In a mixing bowl combine flour and baking powder. In a separate bowl combine egg, butter, milk and lemon juice. Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Grate apple into batter and mix.
Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet and drop batter by heaping tablespoonful into skillet. Fry until golden on both sides. Serve with cinnamon butter and maple syrup.
