Pecan Pie

1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract (pure extract)
About 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Recipe
Prick bottom and sides of pastry shell; bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Beat eggs until light and lemon colored; add sugar and corn syrup, beating until fluffy. Stir in butter, salt and vanilla. Pour filling into pastry shell.
Top with pecan halves. Bake at 300 degrees for one hour and 45 minutes or until center of pie is firm.
Makes one nine-inch pie.
