    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 cup shortening
    2/3 cup sugar
    2 eggs.
    3/4 cup milk
    2 squares melted unsweetened chocolate (2 oz.)
    1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts.

    Recipe



    Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and beat until light and fluffy; add egg yolks; add milk alternately with combined dry ingredients. Add melted chocolate
    and nuts. Fold in egg whites which have been beaten until stiff but not dry.

    Bake in waffle baker slightly cooler than for regular waffles. Watch carefully as steaming abates.
    Dust with powdered sugar.

    These make a wonderful base for ice cream, topped with chocolate sauce, marshmallow topping or pecan sauce, or with Cool Whip. (Glutton for punishment? Try ice cream, chocolate topping, whipped cream, and a cherry on top!) Hardly any calories!!!!
