    Prune Cake

    This recipe appeared in the April, 1998 newsletter and was donated by my mother, Doris Shearin.

    List of Ingredients

    3 cups sugar
    2 cups self-rising flour
    1 cup buttermilk
    1 cup oil
    3 eggs
    1 cup nuts, optional
    1 Tbsp ground allspice
    2 Tbsp cinnamon
    2 small jars prunes (baby food) (if unable to find prunes, use plums)

    Recipe

    Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Pour into pan approximately 8 x 14. Bake for one hour at 350º.
