    Clabber Girl Baking Powder Biscuits

    Source of Recipe

    Clabber Girl Baking Powder lable

    Recipe Introduction

Everyone loves these. The recipe does not mention how big to cut the biscuits. I use a wide mouth glass to cut out the biscuits.

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 cups of flour
    • 2 1/2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 1/3 cup shortening
    • 3/4 cup milk

    Instructions

    1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    2. Cut in shortening with fork until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
    3. Add milk and blend lightly with fork only until flour is moistened and dough pulls away from sides of bowl.
    4. Turn out on lightly floured board. Knead lightly (30 seconds) and roll 3/4 inch thick. (Then cut out your biscuits, using glass, biscuit cutter, etc.)
    5. Place on lightly greased pan and brush tops of biscuits with butter or margarine. *Bake at 475 (very hot oven) for 12 - 15 minutes.
    6. *I bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. The bottoms tend to burn if I do it according to the recipe)

    Final Comments

These are also great for breakfast served with gravy and scrambled eggs.
