    Five Bean Salad

    This recipe was originally a three bean salad, but I added two more kinds of beans. Make ahead the night before. Makes a nice side dish. I use this as part of my holiday menu.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 can (16 oz) green beans, drained
    • 1 can (16 oz) wax beans, drained
    • 1 can (16 oz) garbanzo or chick peas, drained
    • 1 can (16 oz) Black beans, rinsed and drained
    • 1 can (16 oz) dark or light kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 3/4 cup sugar
    • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
    • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
    • 1/2 tsp salt


    Instructions


    1. In a large salad bowl or casserole dish, combine all of the beans, green pepper and onions.
    2. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Stir until all the sugar dissolves. Pour over the bean mixture.
    3. Cover and refrigerate overnight, stirring several times.
