The idea for this started with my mother, but I didn't have the exact amounts, so I came up with my own, in a combination that suited us. One of our favorite meals.
your favorite meatballs, from scratch or frozen (cooked) (for my recipe click the recipe link above)
2 pkgs brown gravy mix (or hunter sauce or mushroom gravy mix - your choice)
1 1/2 c. water
scant 1 c. sour cream (regular or low fat)
1 pkg. noodles, cooked
Recipe
Mix together water and gravy mix in a pot; bring to a boil and stir until it starts to thicken. Remove from the heat and add the sour cream, stir thoroughly until blended. Heat through (until it just starts to bubble). Take off heat immediately and let stand for ten minutes, covered (this will help thicken the sauce). Serve meatballs and sauce over noodles w/ broccoli and a salad.
NOTES: Don't use fat free sour cream! You'll need to use twice as much to get enough flavor and it just will never thicken right.
