    Grandma's Chocolate Cake

    List of Ingredients




    5 rounded T. Cocoa
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 cup boiling water
    ****************************************
    2 teas. vanilla
    2 cups sugar
    2 beaten eggs
    1/2 cup sour or buttermilk
    2 cups flour
    2 teas. baking soda
    1/4 teas. salt
    *********************************************
    Frosting:
    2 cups sugar
    4 T. cocoa
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1/2 cup evaporated milk
    1/8 teas. cream of tarter
    1 teas. vanilla

    Recipe



    Take first 2 ingredients and disolve in 1 cup boiling water.
    Mix the rest of the ingredients (except the frosting) together and bake in a greased 9 x 13 pan at 350 for 30 mins., being careful not to overbake.

    When done make the frosting:
    Put the frosting ingredients, except vanilla, in a pan and bring to a full boil and boil for 1 minute. Add the vanilla.
    Take mixer and beat until spreading consistency. Pour on top of cake.
