    1 1/4 cup Flour
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1 cup Brown Sugar
    1/3 cup Shortening
    1 tsp. Baking Powder
    1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
    1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
    1/2 cup Sour Milk
    1 Egg

    Oven 375*
    Combine and mix flour, salt, brown sugar and shortening until crumbly and reserve 1/4 c. of this mixture.

    To remaining mixture, add and mix thoroughly baking powder, cinnamon, soda, nutmeg, sour milk, and egg.

    Pour into wax paper lined 8x8x2 baking pan. Sprinkle with reserve crumbs. Cinnamon may be sprinkled over crumbs. Bake at 375* for 25 to 30 minutes.
