    Susan's Apple/Cinnamon Granola

    Source of Recipe

    Provida

    Recipe Introduction

I love Granola and LOVE this recipe. I use 1/2 C. Torani's sugar free coffee syrup instead of the sugars and water. Love the caramel flavored one with this recipe. There are a ton of flavors and all that I have tried are great.

    List of Ingredients

    4 cups dry oats
2 cups Diced Apple (about 4 apples)
    3/4 cup Splenda
    1/4 cup Brown Sugar Twin
    1/4 t cinnamon
    1/2 cup water

    Recipe

    1. Pre-heat oven to 275 degrees.

    2. Dice apples really small.

    3. Combine Splenda, Brown Sugar Twin, Cinnamon and Water in large bowl.

    4. Add Oats and combine (I use my hands to mix everything, works better than stirring)

    5. Add diced apples, tossing to blend together

    6. Scatter evenly on two non-stick cookie sheets

    7. Bake 50-60 minutes, until golden.
Do not overcook, overcooked oats are awful. Trust me on this one!

    Experiment with the flavors...
    Pinacolda Granola...Pineapple/coconut extract
    Banana Nut Granola...banana/nut extract/maple extract
    Tropical Granola...Pineapple/Apricot/Peach/vanilla extract
    SweetTart Granola...Apple/Cranberry
    Berry Granola...Blueberry/Cranberry

NOTE... I haven't tried these.. just thinking the combos up, so no guarantees. Please experiment and share the results.

SERVING SIZE...This measures out to about 20 servings of carbs per batch, which is a scant 1/2 cup per serving
You may measure OR weigh your granola... a scant 1/2 cup or 2 oz. on a scale.

ANOTHER NOTE... if you are using it for your PWO (PreWorkOut Meal), then you can DOUBLE this and have ONE FULL CUP for your carb. See your black book for details on PWO's.

YET ANOTHER NOTE...since Apples can be counted either as a fruit or a carb...they are counted here as a carb being combined with the oats.
