Recipe Introduction
This is my Mother's recipe she gave me for good old fashioned bread stuffing. Nothing fancy - just plain good!
List of Ingredients
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 1 c sliced celery
- 1/2 c (1 stick) butter
- 1/2 c water
- 12 c torn bread pieces (dried out in oven)
- Stock made from simmering turkey neck
- salt/pepper to taste
- 1 Tbsp poultry seasoning
Instructions
- Saute onions & celery in butter til softened. Add rest of ingredients using as much turkey broth as you need to make right consistency.
- You can either use this mixture to stuff the bird, or, place in greased casserole (place cooked turkey neck in center pushing down so that it is surrounded by the stuffing)and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hr (covered for 1st half).
