Recipe Introduction
This is my mother's recipe for gingerbread, which varies a little from my granny's. Another favourite.
List of Ingredients
- 10 oz. flour
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 3 tablespoons syrup
- 3 tablespoons treacle
- 2.5 oz. sugar
- 6 oz. butter or margarine
- 1 (beaten) egg
- half a pint of milk
Instructions
- Warm butter, sugar, syrup and treacle in a bowl.
- Sift in flour.
- Add egg and milk, and beat well.
- Bake in a moderate oven (reg. 3 or 4) for 50 minutes.
