    Sticky Gingerbread

    Recipe Introduction


    This is my mother's recipe for gingerbread, which varies a little from my granny's. Another favourite.


    List of Ingredients


    • 10 oz. flour
    • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
    • 3 tablespoons syrup
    • 3 tablespoons treacle
    • 2.5 oz. sugar
    • 6 oz. butter or margarine
    • 1 (beaten) egg
    • half a pint of milk


    Instructions


    1. Warm butter, sugar, syrup and treacle in a bowl.
    2. Sift in flour.
    3. Add egg and milk, and beat well.
    4. Bake in a moderate oven (reg. 3 or 4) for 50 minutes.
