    • 3 CUPS ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
    • 3 TSP. BAKING POWDER
    • 3/4 CUP BUTTERMILK
    • 1 TSP. SALT
    • 3/4 TSP BAKING SODA
    • 3/4 CUP SHORTENING


    Instructions


    1. SIFT ALL DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER
    2. MAKE A WELL IN MIDDLE OF DRY INGRIDIENTS AND PUT SHORTENING IN THE WELL.
    3. WORK SHORTENING INTO DRY INGREDIENTS WITH A PASTRY CUTTER OR FORK. WORK UNTIL IT RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS
    4. ADD BUTTERMILK AND MIX WELL
    5. TRANSFER DOUGH TO A WELL FLOURED SURFACE
    6. HEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES.
    7. KNEAD DOUGH (ONLY A FEW TIMES)
    8. SHAPE INTO BISUITS BY HAND OR USE A BISCUIT CUTTER.
    9. PUT THEM ON A GREASED BAKING SHEET WITH SIDES TOUCHING.
    10. BAKE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL BISCUITS ARE LIGHTLY BROWNED.
