    • 1/2 CUP ONION,MINCED
    • 1 TABLESPOON SHORTENING, MELTED
    • 1 1/2 CUPS BISCUIT MIX
    • 1/4 CUP DRY MILK SOLIDS
    • 1 EGG
    • 1/2 CUP WATER
    • 1 CUP AMERICAN CHEESE, GRATED
    • 2 TEASPOONS POPPY SEEDS
    • 1 TABLESPOON BUTTER OR MARGARINE, MELTED


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 425 DEGREES.
    2. COOK ONION UNTIL TENDER IN MELTED SHORTENING. MEANWHILE, MIX IN A 1 1/2 QUART BOWL THE BISCUIT MIX AND MILK SOLIDS.
    3. ADD TO DRY INGEDIENTS THE COOKED ONION, EGG, WATER, AND 1/2 CUP GRATED CHEESE. MIX WELL
    4. SPREAD MIXTURE INTO A GREASED 8 INCH ROUND BAKING PAN.
    5. TOP WITH 1/2 CUP GRATED CHEESE, POPPY SEEDS, AND MELTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE. BAKE NEAR CENTER OF OVEN UNTIL TOP IS GOLDEN BROWN(APPR.20 MINUTES). CUT IN WEDGES AND SERVE HOT.
