- 1/2 CUP ONION,MINCED
- 1 TABLESPOON SHORTENING, MELTED
- 1 1/2 CUPS BISCUIT MIX
- 1/4 CUP DRY MILK SOLIDS
- 1 EGG
- 1/2 CUP WATER
- 1 CUP AMERICAN CHEESE, GRATED
- 2 TEASPOONS POPPY SEEDS
- 1 TABLESPOON BUTTER OR MARGARINE, MELTED
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 425 DEGREES.
- COOK ONION UNTIL TENDER IN MELTED SHORTENING. MEANWHILE, MIX IN A 1 1/2 QUART BOWL THE BISCUIT MIX AND MILK SOLIDS.
- ADD TO DRY INGEDIENTS THE COOKED ONION, EGG, WATER, AND 1/2 CUP GRATED CHEESE. MIX WELL
- SPREAD MIXTURE INTO A GREASED 8 INCH ROUND BAKING PAN.
- TOP WITH 1/2 CUP GRATED CHEESE, POPPY SEEDS, AND MELTED BUTTER OR MARGARINE. BAKE NEAR CENTER OF OVEN UNTIL TOP IS GOLDEN BROWN(APPR.20 MINUTES). CUT IN WEDGES AND SERVE HOT.
