- 1 LB. DRY LARGE LIMA BEANS
- 6 CUPS WATER
- 1/2 LB. BACON,DICED
- 1 ONION,CHOPPED
- 1 GREEN PEPPER, DICED
- 1 TABLESPOON ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
- 2 TEASPOONS SEASONED SALT
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/4 TEASPOON PEPPER
- 2 TEASPOONS PREPARED MUSTARD
- 1 TEASPOON WORCESTSHIRE SAUCE
- 2 TABLESPOONS BROWN SUGAR
- 2 1/3 CUPS CANNED TOMATOES, DICED
Instructions
- WASH BEANS,COVER WITH WATER AND SOAK FOR 6-8 HOURS.DISCARD WATER, AND SET BEANS ASIDE.
- COOK BACON IN A LARGE SKILLET,UNTIL CRISP. DRAIN (LEAVE ENOUGH GREASE TO SAUTE YOUR ONION) AND CRUMBLE BACON,SET ASIDE.
- ADD ONION AND GREEN PEPPER TO SKILLET AND COOK FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. BLEND IN THE FLOUR, SEASONINGS, AND SUGAR. ADD TOMATOES AND SIMMER, UNCOVERED FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
- ADD BEANS. COOK UNTIL BEANS ARE DONE.
- SPRINKLE WITH THE CRUMBLED BACON AND SERVE.
