    • 1 CUP WHITE SUGAR
    • 1 1/4 CUPS MILK
    • 1/4 CUP LIGHT CORN SYRUP
    • 1/8 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 1 1/2 CUPS CHOPPED PECANS


    Instructions


    1. HEAT SUGARS, MILK, CORNSYRUP, AND SALT ON MEDIUM HIGH HEAT TO BOILING,STIRRING CONSTANTLY.
    2. REDUCE HEAT TO MEDIUM AND CONTINUE COOKING FOR ABOUT 15 MORE MINUTES OR TILL THE SOFT BALL STAGE (236 DEGREES ON CANDY THERMOMETER),WITHOUT STIRRING.
    3. SET PAN ASIDE, AND COOL FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, OR UNTIL SAUCEPAN BOTTOM IS COOL TO TOUCH. DO NOT STIR DURING THIS TIME.
    4. ADD VANILLA AND PECANS AND BEAT FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE, JUST UNTIL A LITTLE THICKENED BUT NOT TILL CANDY LOSES ITS GLOSS
    5. DROP BY SPOONFULS ONTO WAXED PAPER AND LET SET FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.
    6. WRAP CANDIES INDIVIDUALLY AND STORE IN AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
