    • 1 CUP BUTTER, SOFTENED
    • 1 CUP WHITE SUGAR
    • 1 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
    • 2 EGGS
    • 2 TSP. VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 2 1/4 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
    • 1 TSP. BAKING SODA
    • 3/4 CUP COCOA
    • 1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
    • 1 TABLESPOON WHITE SUGAR
    • 48 CHOCOLATE COVERED CARAMEL CANDIES


    Instructions


    1. BEAT BUTTER UNTIL CREAMY.
    2. GRADUALLY BEAT IN WHITE SUGAR AND BROWN SUGAR.
    3. BEAT IN EGGS AND VANILLA
    4. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA, AND COCOA.
    5. GRADUALLY ADD TO BUTTER MIXTURE, BEATING WELL.
    6. STIR IN 1/2 CUP WALNUTS
    7. COVER AND CHILL AT LEAST 2 HOURS.
    8. COMBINE 1/2 CUP NUTS WITTH TABLESPOON OF SUGAR
    9. DIVIDE DOUGH INTO 4 PARTS. WORK WITH ONE PART AT A TIME LEAVING THE OTHER PARTS IN REFRIGERATOR TILL NEEDED. DIVIDE EACH PART INTO 12 PIECES.
    10. QUICKLY PRESS EACH PEICE OF DOUGH AROUND A CARAMEL. ROLL INTO A BALL AND DIP TOPS INTO THE SUGAR MIXTURE.
    11. PLACE SUGAR SIDE UP 2 INCHES APART ON A GREASED BAKING SHEET
    12. BAKE FOR 8 MINUTES IN A PREHEATED 350 DEGREE OVEN.
    13. LET COOL FOR 3-4 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING TO WIRE RACKS TO COOL COMPLETELY
