    Want to feel like you are eating out at a Chinese restaurant? Sweet Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken will take you there. This shredded chicken dish bathes the chicken in an unbelievable tasty sauce that will send you to the moon. The secret ingredients include hoisin sauce, balsamic glaze and tomato paste. If you like your sauce hot, crushed red pepper flakes or sriracha can also be added to spice things up. This is an easy dish to throw together the night before. It's nice to come home from work and have something that is ready to serve.

    List of Ingredients




    2 lbs skinless boneless chicken thighs or breasts
    1/3 cup soy sauce use gluten free tamari or coconut aminos for paleo-friendly version
    1/3 cup honey
    3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
    2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
    1 teaspoon Thai sweet red chili sauce
    1 teaspoon sesame oil
    3 cloves garlic minced
    1 medium onion diced
    2 1/12 tablespoons cornstarch + 3 tablespoons cold water
    Toppings (optional):
    green onions sliced
    sesame seeds

    Recipe



    Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Add chicken to bottom of crockpot.
    In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, balsamic glaze, Thai sweet red chili sauce, sesame oil, garlic and onion. Pour sauce over chicken, cover with the lid and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or high for 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

    To thicken the sauce, whisk together cornstarch and water in a small bowl and stir into slow cooker. Turn heat to high and allow the sauce to cook and thicken for 15-20 minutes.

    Serve hot with sauce over cooked rice or noodles. Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired
