Awesome Apple Pie

1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter (one stick)
6 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1-2 tsps cinnamon (can add nutmeg also if desired)
2 (9")unbaked pie crusts (follow directions for pricking)

Recipe
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Combine the apple juice, 1/2 cup white sugar and the butter in a medium sized sauce pan and heat until melted. Add the apples and cook until fruit is tender.
Combine 1/2 cup of the sugar with the cornstarch and cinnamon. Stir into the fruit mixture, then cook until thickened. Cool then pour into the prepared pie shell. Cover with the top crust and seal. Make a couple of slits in the top for steam to escape. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on the crust, if desired. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, 35-45 min
