    Maw Maw’s Pecan Pie


    Makes two pies
    3 eggs, beaten well
    1 cup sugar
    1/2 cup dark Karo syrup
    2 level tablespoons corn meal
    1/2 cup butter, melted
    1-1/2 cups chopped pecans
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Recipe



    Mix and pour into uncooked pie shells. Bake at 425F for 10
    minutes.

    Turn the oven to 325 and bake 30-35 minutes longer or until a
    knife inserted come out clean and the filling is
    set. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, wrap aluminum
    foil around the edges and continue to cook.

    Remove from oven and set on a cooling rack for about 30
    minutes before cutting unless you like HOT pie!
    Serve with whip topping or ice cream.
