Bacony Chowder

List of Ingredients
1/2 pound country bacon
1 large onion, chopped
6 stalks celery, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups water (divided)
3 cups cubed new potatoes (with skins)
2 Tablespoons cooking sherry
1 1/2 cups milk
4 tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Recipe
1. Cook bacon in frying pan until crispy
2. Put bacon (including 2 tablespoons of drippings)1 1/2 cups water, milk, onion, garlic, and celery in a large pot.
3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, turn down temperature and simmer mixture, uncovered, for about 35 minute.
4/ Mix sherry, 1/2 cup water, and flour in a bowl. When thoroughly mixed add to chowder. Add salt and pepper, continue to simmer for 15 more minutes.
