- 1 POUND OKRA
- CORNMEAL
- SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
- 1/2 CUP SHORTENING
Instructions
- WASH THE OKRA, CUT OFF THE STEMS AND SLICE INTO 1/4 INCH SLICES
- DREDGE OKRA IN CORNMEAL, COATING THOROUGHLY
- HEAT SHORTNEING TO MEDIUM HEAT.
- ADD OKRA TO PAN. WHEN OKRA IS BROWN ON BOTTOM TURN OVER AND BROWN ON OTHER SIDE.
- REMOVE FROM PAN WITH A SPATULA AND DRAIN ON PAPER TOWELS
- SEASON WITH SALT AND PEPPER
