- 2 POUNDS FRESH TURNIP GREENS
- 6 SLICES BACON, CHOPPED
- WATER TO COVER
- 3 MEDIUM TURNIPS, DICED
- 2 TEASPOONS SUGAR
- SALT TO TASTE
Instructions
- WASH AND PICK THE GREENS, TEAR INTO BITE SIZED PIECES.
- COOK BACON TILL CRISP, SET ASIDE RESERVE THE DRIPPINGS
- PUT GREENS IN A LARGE POT COVER WITH WATER. ADD REMAINING INGREDIENTS INCLUDING THE BACON AND BACON DRIPPINGS.
- BRING TO A BOIL. REDUCE HEAT TO A SIMMER, COVER POT AND SIMMER 35-40 MINUTES, OR UNTIL GREENS AND TURNIPS ARE AS TENDER AS YOU LIKE THEM
