    Cookie Stamp Shortbread From Rycraft Excellent!! Christmas 2004

    Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
    1 1/2 C Butter -- NOT margarine
    3/4 C Granulated Sugar
    3 1/2 C All-purpose Flour

    Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Add flour gradually, one cup at a time. Mix this until well blended, but do not overmix.

    Roll into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Stamp with warm cookie stamp or flatten with the bottom of a glass.

    Bake at 325 f. for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Yield is approximate.

    Description:
    "Crisp and buttery. You might sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar over the stamped cookies just before baking but it isn't necessary. Dough seems very dry but it works perfectly."
