Snicker Doodles

1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter Or Margarine -- Softened
1/2 Cup Shortening
2 Eggs
2 3/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Cream Of Tartar
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Sugar
2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 400°
Mix, 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening, and eggs. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Shape by teaspoonsful into balls. Roll into mixture of sugar and cinnamon, to coat. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until set, 8-10 minutes. Immediately remove to cooling rack. Makes 6 dozen cookies. Do NOT overbake.
