2 cups flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup milk or buttermilk
Recipe
1. Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well and stir in milk. Knead on floured surface a few times. Roll or pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a 2-1/2-inch cutter. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450º for 10-12 minutes. Yield: about 1 dozen biscuits.
