List of Ingredients
1-1/4 cups water
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup cooking oil
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 packages active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs
2-1/2 to 3 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup raisins
1 tablepoon butter or margarine, melted
Recipe
~ In a saucepan, heat the water, maple syrup, and cooking oil until very warm (120 to 130 degrees).
~ In a large bowl, blend the flour, yeast, salt, cinnamon, eggs, and warm liquid. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. By hand, stir in the whole wheat flour and raisins.
~ Cover and let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size, 45 to 60 minutes.
~ Grease two 9 x 5 inch loaf pans and set aside.
~ Punch down dough. Cut dough into 20 pieces and shape into balls. Place 10 balls in two rows in each pan. Drizzle medlted butter over dough. Cover, and let rise again in a warm place until doubled in size, 30 to 45 minutes.
~ Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 25 to 35 minutes until well browned. Immediately remove from pans.
