    1 pkg active dry yeast
    1/4 cup warm water ( 105 to 115 degrees)
    1 cup milk, scalded ( 105 to 115 degrees)
    1 egg
    2 tbsp honey
    Dash salt
    1 tsp dried thyme leaves, optional
    3 1/3 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
    Melted butter

    Recipe



    In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast and warm water. Let stand for few minutes.

    Add milk, egg, honey, salt and thyme, if used.

    Add about 1 cup flour. Beat until batter is smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour until a rather stiff dough forms.

    Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in bowl. Cover.

    Let rise in warm place for about 1 hour. Punch down.

    Turn out onto lightly floured surface. Knead a few times. Divide dough in half.

    Cut each half into 8 even pieces. Shape each into a small ball.

    Place 8 rolls into a greased loaf pan. Drizzle with melted butter. Repeat with second half of dough.

    Cover. Let dough rise in warm place for another 30 to 40 minutes.

    Bake at 400 for about 40 minutes or until loaves are golden brown.
