    Bread: Bread Machine Monkey Bread

    Source of Recipe

    unknown

    List of Ingredients

    2 1/2 teaspoons bread yeast
    3 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 cup granulated sugar
    2 Tbs. softened butter
    1 cup water
    1 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar
    1 cup raisins -- optional

    Recipe

In a bread machine, place the yeast, flour, cinnamon, salt, sugar, 2 Tbs. butter and water in the recommended order for your bread maker. Select dough cycle. When cycle is complete, remove dough from machine, place on floured surface and knead 10-12 times. Lightly grease a bundt or tube pan and set aside.

In a medium saucepan on low heat, melt the 2 sticks of butter. Add brown sugar and raisins and stir until smooth. Remove from heat. Cut the dough into 1-inch chunks. Drop one chunk at a time into the butter mixture, coat thoroughly, then layer chunks loosely in the pan, staggering layers so you're dropping each dough chunk over a space between 2 below. Let rise in a warm, draft-free spot until dough is just over the top of the pan, 30-60 mins.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven, place a plate face down on top of pan and , using oven mitts to hold plate on pan, turn over both until bread slides out. Serve immediately.
