Deep Fry at 375 degrees F.for about 3 minutes.
Sift together:
2&1/4 c.sifted Pillsbury's Best Enriched Flour*
2&1/2 tsp.double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Add:
1/2 c.sugar gradually to
3 Tbls.Crisco,creaming well.
Blend in:
2 well beaten eggs
Combine:
2/3 c.milk & 1 tsp.French's vanilla
Add alternately with the dry ingredients to creamed mixture,beginning
& ending with dry ingredients.Blend thoroughly after each
addition.(With electric mixer use a low speed.)
Stir in:
1&1/2 squares(1&1/2oz.)semi sweet chocolate,coarsley grated
Drop:
by teaspoonfuls into hot deep fat(375 degrees F.)Fry till well
browned on both sides,about 3 minutes.Drain on absorbent paper.Cool &
roll in sugar.
*If using self-rising flour(with the notation,"sold in parts of the
south"),omit baking powder & salt.
