    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter
    2 cups sugar
    4 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3/4 cup cocoa
    1 1/2 cups flour
    Nuts and maraschino cherries, if desired

    Frosting

    1/3 cup cocoa
    1/2 cup butter
    3 cups powdered sugar
    4 to 5 teaspoons milk

    Recipe



    Cream butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa and flour. If
    adding
    cherries and nuts, drain cherries well and pat dry, then chop both
    cherries
    and nuts before adding to batter. Spread in lightly greased 9 by
    13-inch
    pan. Bake in preheated 350 degrees oven 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and
    frost.

    Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over cooled bars.
    Cut
    into small squares to serve.
