    1 1/2 cups flour
    2 cups sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup cocoa
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    4 eggs
    2 teaspoons vanilla
    3/4 cup chocolate chips or walnuts, optional

    Recipe



    Sift together the dry ingredients (I just use a whisk to stir everything
    together - that is easier and just as effective). Cream the butter, eggs
    and vanilla together in a large bowl with an electric beater. Slowly add
    flour and beat until smooth.

    Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with chocolate
    chips or nuts, if using.

    Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until sides begin to pull away from the
    edge. The center should feel set, but a toothpick inserted in the center
    should still be gooey. Be careful not to overcook these!

    Cool and store in an airtight container.
