1 cup soft butter
1/3 cup whipping cream
2 cups flour
Recipe
Mix thoroughly - cover and chill.
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Roll 1/2 of dough at a time, 1/8" thick. Cut into
1 1/2" rounds. (I've been known to use water bottle caps for this ;)
Transfer the rounds onto waxed paper which is covered in sugar, dab them on
both sides, and then place on ungreased baking sheet. Prick rounds with
fork (I do 3 rows of 4 holes; does that make sense? ;) Bake 7 - 9
minutes, depending on oven, etc. Once completely cooled, fill with creamy
filling (below).
Creamy Filling
1/4 cup soft butter
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 t vanilla
tint with a few drops of food coloring. My mother has always divided the
filling into 3 or so colors and used pastels.
