    Lasagna

    Source of Recipe

    Life on a Dime

    List of Ingredients

1½ lbs. Ground beef (chuck or round)
1 Can Tomato Sauce (Large 29oz Size)
    2 garlic cloves minced
    1 onion, chopped
    6 oz Tomato paste
    1 Cup water or wine
    1 Teaspoon salt
    1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
    Lasagna Noodles Uncooked, 1 package
    ¾ Cup grated Romano cheese
    2 Cups Ricotta cheese
    4 Cups shredded mozzarella

    Recipe

In a large skillet, brown the ground meat with onion and garlic cooking over medium heat about ten minutes or until the meat is crumbly. Drain and set aside.
Mix together the tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt, Italian seasoning and water.
Combine the mozzarella, ricotta, and Romano cheeses in a bowl: mix well.
Into the slow cooker add the ingredients as follows:

Layer One: One quarter of the meat mixture on bottom

Layer Two: One third of the noodles over the first layer breaking as needed to make fit.

    (DO NOT COOK NOODLES FIRST!)

Layer Three: One third of cheese mixture is added and spread evenly over the noodle layer

Layer Four: Repeat layers two and three

    Layer Five: Repeat Layer Four

Layer Six: Top off with the remaining meat/sauce mixture.

Cook, covered on LOW about 4-5 hours or until the noodles are tender.

Sometimes the lasagna becomes watery due to the moisture content of the meat. If this happens simply uncover and cook for an additional 30 minutes allowing the moisture to evaporate.
