Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sauce

Cake:
3 1/2 oz butter or margarine
2/3 cup milk
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 Tbs cocoa
1 Tbs vanilla sugar
Chocolate sauce:
1 3/4 oz butter or margarine
good 1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp flour
2 Tbs sugar
1 Tbs cocoa
some grated coconut to sprinkle onto cake
Recipe
Melt the fat and mix it with milk to blood heat (98F). Beat eggs and sugar white and fluffy. Mix flour, baking powder, cocoa and vanilla sugar and add this to the egg batter, alternating with the milk mixture. Pour the batter in a greased, floured baking dish, 9 - 10" in diameter. Bake at 350F for about 30 minutes.
Sauce: Melt the fat and pour in the milk. Mix flour and sugar with cocoa, add to the milk mixture in the saucepan and let boil to a rather thick sauce. Stir continuously to keep the sauce from sticking to the bottom. Spread the sauce on top of the cake when it's cooled slightly and sprinkle with grated coconut.
