Cream Cheesecake Layer
2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 pkg ( 8 oz ) cream cheese
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 egg
3 tbsp milk or half and half
Chocolate Cake Layer
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/3 cups milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash salt
4 squares ( 4 oz ) unsweetened chocolate, melted, cooled

Frosting:
Combine 1/4 cup milk, 1/4 cup softened butter, 2 squares melted chocolate, 1
tsp vanilla and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar. Use cherry halves for garnish
To make cheesecake layer: Combine in small mixing bowl, the softened butter,
cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, cornstarch, egg and milk.
Beat at high speed until smooth and creamy. Set aside
For chocolate layer: In large bowl of mixer, combine sugar, softened butter,
vanilla, eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, soda, salt and chocolate.
Beat at high speed for 4 minutes.
Spread half of chocolate batter in greased and lightly floured 13 by 9 by 2
inch pan.
Spread with the cheese mixture then with remaining chocolate batter.
Bake at 350 for 50 to 60 minutes until cake tests done.
Cool in pan.
Spread with the frosting. Cut in squares to serve. Garnish with cherry
halves, if used..
