Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

1 cup flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
2 Tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts, optional
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cup hottest tap water
Recipe
Heat oven to 350 degrees. In an ungreased 9-by-9-by-2-inch pan, stir
together flour, granulated sugar, 2 Tablespoons cocoa, baking powder and
salt. Mix in milk, oil and vanilla with fork until smooth. Stir in nuts.
Combine 1 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa and sprinkle over top. Pour hot
water over batter -- do not stir. Bake 40 minutes; spoon into dessert dishes
or cut into squares. Invert each square onto dessert plate. Top with ice
cream and spoon sauce over each serving.
Makes 9 servings.
