    1 3/4 cups unsalted butter, softened
    2 3/4 cups sugar
    8 eggs
    1 tsp each orange extract and salt
    2 tsp grated orange rind
    3 cups flour
    1 tbs baking powder
    3/4 cup orange juice
    DRIZZLE
    3/4 cup confectioners sugar
    1 tbs orange juice + 1 tsp water

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour 10 inch tube pan. Beat butter in bowl until creamy. Beat in sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, beat in extract and rind. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Beat into butter mixture alternating with orange juice. Beat 2 min. or until thick and creamy. Pour into pan.

    Bake 35 min. Lower oven heat to 300 degrees. Bake 50 min. or until done. Cool in pan 15 min. turn cake out on rack, cool completely. DRIZZLE---In a bowl, whisk confectioners sugar and thinned juice until smooth. Drizzle over cake. Let dry before slicing and serving. MAKES 24 SERVINGS.*
