Decadent Chocolate Truffles

List of Ingredients
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
or 18 ounces
1 14 ounce can eagle® brand original sweetened condensed milk, not evaportated milk
or creamy chocolate
not evaporated milk
1 Tbs vanilla extract
OPTIONAL COATINGS:
finely chopped toasted nuts
flaked coconut
chocolate sprinkles
colored sprinkles
unsweetened cocoa powder
sifted powdered sugar
colored sugars
frosting or tiny candles, optional
Recipe
1 In large saucepan, melt chips with Eagle Brand. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into medium-sized bowl. Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours or until firm.
2 Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in desired coating and/or decorate with frosting and candies. Store tightly covered in refrigerator.
3 Makes about 6 dozen
4 VARIATION Cherry-Almond Truffles: Substitute milk chocolate chips for semi-sweet chocolate chips. Add 1 1/3 cups toasted coconut and 2/3 cup finely chopped dried tart cherries with the vanilla. Proceed as above. Roll in 1 1/4 cups finely chopped toasted almonds.
