Microwave Strawberry Jam

1 quart fresh strawberries
3 1/2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons powdered pectin
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Wash and stem berries, drain in colander. Crush berries in 2-quart glass
bowl. Stir in powdered pectin, sugar and lemon juice. Microwave on high for
8 minutes, stirring several times. Test for doneness using the "sheet" test.
Jam is done when it "sheets" from a spoon. Cook longer if needed. Pour into
5 sterilized 1/2-pint jars and seal. Makes 5 half-pints.
