    2 cups unsalted peanuts -- can use dry roasted or
    regular with skins removed
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil -- up to 2/3 cup total
    salt
    1 teaspoon corn syrup -- up to 2 teaspoons total OR 1/2
    to 1 teaspoon honey or sugar

    Puree the peanuts using either a food processor or blender.

    To use the blender: Put 1/2 cup of the peanuts in a blender container.
    Whirl at high speed until powdery; then add about 1 tablespoon of the
    vegetable oil, If using regular-roasted peanuts and 2 tablespoons of
    the oil, if using dry-roasted peanuts. Continue blending to form a
    smooth puree. Add more oil, bit by bit, if the peanuts need it to
    blend properly. When the blender blades start whirl without blending,
    scrape mixture into a bowl. Repeat using the same amount of vegetable
    oil until all the peanuts are made into butter.

    Food Processor: Place all the peanuts in the container. Whirl for 2 to
    2 1/2 minutes until pureed to a butter. During the whirling drizzle
    in enough vegetable oil to make into a spreadable consistency. Scrape
    mixture into serving bowl.

    Makes 1 1/2 cups.
