Satiny Chocolate Frosting

4 1/2 oz unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter or margarine, plus 1 tablespoon
5 2/3 cups sifted powdered sugar
1/2 cup milk, plus 1 tablespoon
1 tsp vanilla extract
Recipe
1 Combine chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil. Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts. Remove from heat, and cool.
2 Add powdered sugar and milk to chocolate mixture; beat at low speed of an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
3 Yield: 3 cups.
