    Bread: Italian Garlic Bread

    Source of Recipe

    4 on 4

    List of Ingredients

    1-1/2 cups warm water
    2 Tbl. vegetable oil (optional)
    4 cups all purpose flour
    1-1/2 tsp. salt
    2-1/2 tsp. active dry yeast

Olive Oil and Fresh Garlic Topping
    2 Tbl. olive oil
    7 cloves fresh pressed garlic

    Recipe

*This recipe requires a bread machine with a "dough" setting so that the
bread dough can be removed before it is baked

    Directions:
Add all ingredients to the breadpan in the given order.
Put the Breadman on a dough setting.
The ingredients will be mixed into dough.
The dough will rise in the Breadman.
After the dough has risen, remove from the Breadman and divide into three
    even loaves.
Roll the loaves out into baguettes, each about 12 inches long and 2 inches
    in diameter.
Make slits in the bread at a 45 degree angle with the end. Place these slits
    about every 2 inches.
Place the bread on a greased cookie sheet, using one cookie sheet for 2
baguettes (to reduce fat and calories, use Pam to grease cooking sheets).
Bake baugettes at 375 degrees for 7-10 minutes, or until the top is just
    turning golden brown.
Mix the olive oil and garlic in a bowl with a spoon, pressing the garlic to
mix it further with the olive oil.
Using a basting brush, spread the olive oil and garlic onto the tops of the
    baquettes evenly.
Place the baguettes back into the over for another 3-5 minutes.
    Remove and let cool.
