Breakfast: 30 Minute Raised Doughnuts

List of Ingredients
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. melted shortening
3 c. flour
Recipe
Mix water, yeast and sugar; let stand until foamy. In
separate bowl mix egg, salt, melted shortening and
flour. Add
yeast mixture to second mixture. Mix well and roll
out on
floured board. Cut and let rise 30 minutes. Fry in
deep hot
fat at 375 degrees until browned. Drain on paper
towels. While warm
dip doughnuts in granulated sugar or glaze with
orange or
chocolate frosting.
